VKS-737 GATHERING LAKE SPRINGS

On the Queens Birthday W.A. long weekend of 24th - 26th September 2005 several members of the VKS-737 4WD Radio Network including my wife & I, attended a gathering at Lake Springs on the property of Peter & Sue Waterhouse situated in the mid-west wheat belt on the edge of Mongers Lake some 250km N.N.E of Perth. At this time of the year the area is covered with many varieties of wildflowers which gives a lot of splendid colours to the surrounding bushland. It is by far one of the best wild flower areas I have seen. Fifteen different variety of orchids have been found here. The event included bushwalks & informative lectures on the area.
